What Is an Energy Storage System (ESS)?
XGW Digital Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. is a China-based manufacturer of Energy Storage & Battery Solutions — telecom batteries, UPS lithium batteries, residential and commercial & industrial ESS. An ESS is the hardware that stores grid or solar energy in batteries and discharges it on demand.
What It Stores
An ESS holds electrical energy in rechargeable cells and delivers it back through a power conversion stage. In most commercial and telecom deployments the storage medium is chemical — lithium-ion, LiFePO4 or sodium-ion — rather than a flywheel or supercapacitor.
The Core Parts
- Battery pack (cells assembled into modules)
- BMS (battery management system)
- PCS / inverter (converts DC battery power to AC site power)
- EMS (energy management controller)
- Enclosure, thermal management and fire safety
Why Sites Add It
- Shift solar or off-peak grid energy into expensive hours
- Back up critical loads during outages
- Cut peak demand charges on commercial tariffs
Is an ESS the same as a battery?
A battery is one part. An ESS bundles the battery with the BMS, inverter and controls needed to connect safely to a site's power.
Does XGW build complete ESS?
Yes. XGW supplies telecom batteries, UPS lithium batteries, residential and C&I ESS, and custom battery packs as integrated, tested systems.
